ALWAYS BE GIVING

ALWAYS BE GIVING

“Always be giving” is forever in my head from Leonie’s manifesto

Today I’m offering one place on Creating Time Capsules – As part of making things happen… from my list – Number #33 – Give back…

I know not everyone has the financial opportunity to take part in my courses, but there’s a yearning there. Each time I run a course, I always gift some spaces… and this round, I’ve saved a space that might be for YOU. Nothing fancy needed to enter, no shares on Facebook or re-tweets… Just leave a comment below telling me either – why you’d like a spot, what you may capture, and what it would mean to you to be able to create your own films of your life and I’ll pick someone on Tuesday.

While we’re on the subject on Creating Time Capsules… and the list.

Let’s look at Number #3 – I’ve been thinking and formulating to make this course into a live workshop… a whole day of shooting and editing together here in London… sharing everything I know about making these little films and creating them together.

I’m excited and totally nervous about the idea, so I’m wondering who would be interested… if you’re here in London and the South-East and fancy a day hanging with me and others… Will you let me know? & sign up to a special mailing list HERE… If there’s enough interest, it might just happen. YAY!

Imagine all the fun we could have together!

Okay officially jealous. I would do this in an instant if I lived in London! 🙁 But I am about to re-sign up and take part in Creating Time Capsules again. So I can’t complain.
Hope you have so much fun and we get to see some films from what will be a brilliant day. 🙂

    Hi Xanthe!

Participating in your Time Capsule class has been on my wishlist for this year. (Well, last November also, but we were still in the US when your class started). So much is going on in my life right now. Working hard on the last renovations on our 140-year old home. Preparing it for the next people who might fall in love with it like we did 9 years ago. So that we can move away to the country. It’s sad and exciting at the same time. I’m doing a ‘before’ and ‘after’ photo journal with all the changes we create with the work on the house (on Instagram). In the last 9 years my partner Eric has shot only one film from the garden. Last Spring, with all those orange poppies I’ll have to leave behind. It would mean so much to capture more of those special memories from our time here and take those with us on our next adventure.

I would love to see how you create time capsules and learn from you! I love to show my world with my eyes through photography and want to learn tell the fairytale of our life, diving deep down to report some selflove practice and showing how to care for ourself with moving images.

Weaving in the video some core feelings of mine, like feeling enough, beeing heard, feeling feminime and love. Creating my own films of our life and also the feelings I handle with, would help me so much to tell my story, to let see others a little glimpse how I see with my eyes and feel to be heard.

I have been learning photography as a hobby and lurking on your website, learning from you. Being a single mom to an -8 year old boy and working full time, my time with my boy is very limited. I would love to be able to capture moments with him, create time capsule that we will surely cherish throughout our lives. Thank you.

My son is planning on getting married here in the UK before he heads over to the US to start a new life. I’d like to capture some special memories before he leaves and of course the big day itself!

I’m an Australian Mum of two, at home, creatively and financially frustrated but obsessed with capturing everyday moments of my two. I would adore opportunity to learn to capture these more beautifully! Please pick me!

Wow, my timing is amazing! I was just thinking “hey, I had wanted to take Xanthe’s course” and you’re about to start! I’ve only edited together one movie ever, and it was one of the most fun things I’ve done. Plus I loved the result. I just watched your August film, and that’s what I’d like to do–capture the moments.

Hi Xanthe. I would love to be able to create even just half of the magic that you have in your own time capsules. So beautiful. So inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Oh wow, Xanthe. I’ve just been on a stumble from meet me at mike’s to here via a few other places. Film is something that I love and also feel is a bit beyond me. I unfortunately bought a DSLR the model below the one with video but I do have my handy i-phone! At the moment I am hoping to dedicate some time to sorting through a pile of photos from the past years. I am so very interested in finding good ways to keep these beautiful memories accessible. Thanks for your generosity and the reminder to share what we have. I think your idea of a live workshop is ace – go for it! Melania

I would love love to take this course! I would love to be able to capture the childhood of my son. I want to be able to look back and hear his little voice. Watch him cock his head to the side, or hear that laugh. I want that on record. I want to learn how to make that record beautiful.

I would love this spot because I spent most of August on holiday with my family in Thailand and I’m overwhelmed by where to start in editing the video clips I shot. I’ve shared some photos on ly blog, but no videos yet, and I would love a starting point.

    thank you <3

Thank you for this generous chance, Xanthe. I’m a busy working mom with a six-year-old daughter and I am passionate about capturing our family moments together. First I think it is a way of seeing the positive & being grateful for what you have in your life. 2nd, I want to make sure when I am older, I can look back on the everyday memories that may be forgotten if they weren’t documented. And third, since I personally do not remember much about my own childhood everyday memories (as they weren’t really documented much), this will be a way for my daughter to remember her childhood.

I am a Mom of two little ones and I try to record our lives the best I can. I love taking photos of my children, but I am lost when it comes to putting videos together and I feel it is such a great way to show them how much I cherish my time with them. Thank you for the chance to win a spot in your class!

Thank you, Xanthe, for your sharing generosity. I am a busy grandmother, who helps care for her grandchildren and rarely take time for myself. However, making “time capsules” has been on my bucket list for a long time. I have never been a lucky person, but would love to have this opportunity.

I’d love to win a spot as it would open up a whole new world for me. Photographing my kids in a gratitude mindset has helped me when things get tough. This course would put a sparkle in my passion for capturing photos. Thanks for this opportunity.
