PRIVACY POLICY

I know how important it is for you to understand how I use your data. This Privacy Policy sets out how and why I collect, store, process your personal data when you make a purchase or opt-in from www.learn.xantheberkeley.com

1. What personal data do I collect?

I use a third party app, MailChimp to store my mailing list data and to deliver my newsletters. I have access to statistics such as email openings and clicks using industry standards technologies, to help me monitor how the emails are received. For more information, see MailChimp’s privacy policy.

I collect personal data for two purposes.

Online course participants –

Your name and email address is stored as part of the registration process when you sign up for an online course with me. This is so I can contact you with information and updates during the course. Each session of the course has its own mailing list and your personal information is not used for any other reason.

Online course interest and updates –

When you visit my Learn site, there are options to sign up to my general information mailing list to receive notifications of when courses are opening for registration or due to begin. This is a double opt-in process and it’s GDPR compliant.

2. When do we collect your personal data?

  • When you sign up to my online courses.
  • When you express an interest in more information or updates of online courses starting.

3. How do we use your personal data?

Online course participants – Your personal data is only used to inform you about a current course you are participating in.

General mailing list – To contact you about upcoming courses, when courses are due to begin or any new offerings from Xanthe Berkeley.

4. Who do we share your personal data with?

I never have or will sell any of your personal data to a third party.

5. Changing your preferences

I’d like to ensure that all the information I have is factually correct and up to date. If you find that the personal data I have is inaccurate or needs updating (for instance, you may have changed your name or email address) then please contact me so that I can correct it.

Online course participants – If you no longer wish to be contacted by me about the course you have purchased, you can amend your preferences or unsubscribe by contacting me or using the link on the footer of a previous email.

General mailing list – If you no longer wish to be contacted by me, you can amend your preferences or unsubscribe by contacting me or using the link on the footer of a previous email.

6. Security and retention of your personal data

Security of your personal data – I take the security of your personal data very seriously. I use MailChimp to store all my data and only I have access to the password to access my account.

Retention of your personal data – I will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. This means that the retention periods will vary according to the type of the data and the reason that I have the data in the first place.
