20 Nov WOMEN I KNOW :: MYRIAM
Myriam is one of the those Women I Know that I can’t believe how honoured I am to have in my life. She has a way of talking to you that makes you believe anything is possible, I kinda wish she could live in my pocket and whisper sweet messages of beauty daily. Myriam played a huge part in making Oasis as magical as it was, her vision and love filtered through it all.
I will always associate this poem with Myriam… it seemed only fitting to share it here with her images. Thank you for encouraging us all to feast on our lives.
LOVE AFTER LOVE
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
