WEEK IN THE LIFE – MINI DAILY FILMS – AT HOME IN MARCH

WEEK IN THE LIFE – MINI DAILY FILMS – AT HOME IN MARCH

This special “Stay Home” week of daily films was a unique experience. I was concerned about running my Handmade Film Making online course during the Coronavirus pandemic – Would people want to join in? Is it ok to promote my business with so much uncertainty? Could people make a video every day in this challenging, difficult time of social distancing?.

But I know being creative helps focus me when I’m anxious and actually one of the wonderful things that comes out from this daily practice of videoing your day, is noticing the little joys and everyday moments. Plus, what a unique time in our lives to document, as we stay safe at home.

So the course went ahead and lovely people joined in. I know it’s possible to make films in any setting, you just have to get creative and approach each day with fresh eyes. But I was nervous that people might find it like Groundhog day and get bored of shooting the same things for seven days in a row.

Thankfully the week was brimming with creativity and positivity. This focus on our daily lives was just the tonic needed at this time. Everyone’s day was wonderful, even the ordinary felt special – #handmadefilmmaking

I created films that felt uplifting and joyful but also reflected how each day was a mix of emotions and the adjustments to the “new normal”.

I’m so pleased to have these precious memories, I can’t imagine how strange it will be to watch them in years to come.

The course will run again in April, I’ve had a few requests to join while we’re still social distancing… so come and join in, if you can. (There’s also a self-paced session if you can’t wait till the 16th.)

The Handmade Film Making course starts April 16th. All the details are HERE.

All films are shot on iPhone 11ProMax. Edited in Enlight Videoleap, with the music from Epidemic Sound and filters from Filmm App.
