When we booked this camping trip many months ago… we dreamed of long summer evenings in the sunshine, cooking round the fire… but my experience of camping has taught me, that more often than not, it can be chilly, windy and sometimes wet.

Thankfully the dream came true, and last weekend we were blessed with glorious sunshine and the most peaceful time at the secret campsite.

As you can see from this film, this summer evening revolved around cooking on the open fire…

I thought it might be fun to share our menu…

Lamb chops (from the local farm shop) – prepared with a garlic, rosemary & sea salt rub

Burgers & ribs (pre-made or marinaded by the farm shop)

Fried potatoes – par-boiled and then fried with a little oil and sea salt to extra crispy if possible (as the boys love it like that)

Corn on the cob – coated with olive oil & salt and grilled

Salad – leaves from the farm shop & foraged sorrel and edible lilies from the campsite + creamy ripe avocado (with squeezed lemon)

Asparagus – grilled with olive oil and sea salt

It was yum! food just tastes SO good cooked and eaten outside…

Then with full bellies, we sit round the fire telling stories and waiting for the sky to get dark, to do some star gazing…

It really was magic… Thank you.

I LOVE your films, and this one especially because I too love camping. I loved hearing you talk about it yesterday too.
