02 Mar SCENES FROM THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
The month of February was focused on healing my wrist and hand. To be honest I spent most of the month crying and feeling fed up!, so I took to dancing while doing my physio exercises to distract me from the pain.
The clips in this video are in chronological order because it was interesting to see the progression of movement in my hand throughout the month. Some days I felt like I was getting nowhere and now I realise they have been big gains throughout the month. I’m still a long way from being fully recovered but it’s all a process.
This is probably the first month in many years that I’ve hardly shot any video or photos. I was very uninspired and doing things with just one hand felt extra challenging. Plus, I needed to rest. But there were enough clips to make this Memory Postcards film… And I know this will be interesting to look back on some day.
I like to call this type of video a “Memory Postcards” film because each one second clip feels like a snapshot of that particular moment in time, almost like sending a postcard to my brain to tigger a memory.
If you feel inspired to create your own Memory Postcards film – I’ve written a blog post with tips and encouragement to create your own. I’m sure you’ve got a few random video clips from recent times that would be great to put into a movie, to look back on in years to come.
If you’d like more guidance to start shooting and editing video to make your own films… My online course Handmade Film Making is happening from March 18th and the self paced version is available anytime. You can find more details HERE.
