12 Jan MEMORY POSTCARDS – A TIME CAPSULE FILM OF 2017
I made a lot of films in 2017… haven’t quite tallied up how it compares to 2016 or 2015 or previous years… but it’s up there.
With 52 Mini Monday Movies… tons of stop motions and video content for brands… a few films about riding my bike. Memory Postcards films from March and while away in Italy, France and Spain. A couple of week long daily mini films. A summer film. And finally my favourites – a DITL on 11.11 and a summers evening picnic.
This is my last film of 2017… (although I should edit together the fun I had with my sister in Paris… soon!)
I followed a similar brief to last year… using the left overs, the selfies, the boomerangs, the random snippets I love but haven’t used in other films, plus a few fav clips because I can’t resist seeing them again. Lots of us four, our faces, smiles, good times and examples of when the boys “flip the bird” to put the camera away – it does happen!
It’s rough and ready, not slick and beautiful… maybe next year I’ll focus on that?, but maybe not? as it’s the feelings and the memories I’m after and these one second moments help me relive that.
What I do love to do, is compare the 2016 complication…
What a joy they are to look back on… Haven’t the boys changed?… although I said that last year about 2015…
It blows my mind… so grateful for these precious memories.
I wrote a few tips in last years blog post… if you’d like to create one of these fun films of your year.
Can’t to see what 2018 brings… my camera is ready!

Posted at 17:29h, 13 Januaryhi there,
I am inspired by your films & have listened to you on Sara Taskers podcast. One question I am hoping you’ll be able to answer. Your films are so slick, yet relaxed & real, I have only an iPhone & an entry level dslr camera, what to you use? I am hoping there is some flexibility for complete beginners!

I use a mix of iPhone, compact and DSLR cameras… whatever I had to hand at the time. I believe you can create great films with just an iphone… jump in and start creating!
