goodbye kittens

goodbye kittens

For the past couple of months emotions have been up and down, partly due to these beauties,  Yes, we wanted to give our cat the chance to have a litter, and we were so excited when they were born in our eldest’s bottom drawer, being able to watch the last one arrive. Whilst it was such a joy to watch them grow and to play with, and have run around the house like nutters!. But it did mean holidays away were more stressful, because of worrying about them and even cancelled, because no one was able to look after them except us.

I have to say their mama has been amazing, if a little too protective (!) around others…. raising beautiful, clean, fun, independent kittens.

Four of the five beauties left last weekend. Yes, I cried when they left, as did my youngest, we were totally heartbroken. Two pairs have gone to two families we know really well, so we will get to see them grow up, and this warms my heart.  And luckily for us, little “Summer” remains with her mama, and so far the two of them are doing really well. Fingers crossed this continues.

Do you mind if I indulge with a selection of pics?… I have it under good authority that some people would like to see these… if not, please step away, and normal blogging will resume next week, with a wedding and family session to come.

Have a happy weekend.

This is our new baby, Summer…..

    Amazing photos you have such a way of capturing the real essence of what you photograph, truly beautiful. They look so innocent and sweet, like butter wouldn’t melt…love the one of the kitten asleep with paw hanging over the basket. Talented, talented lady xxx

    Your photos are wonderful, and these kittens are adorable. You just managed to help me persuade my boyfriend that we have to get a kitten, even he can’t resist their cuteness. Thank you so much for that, I’ve been trying for a while.

    Gorgoeus photos x, so very cute.
    Don’t worry, we’ll look after our two and give them so much love and cuddles. I just need to teach Arlo not to sit on them or squeeze too hard!
    We are still working on names, Max is insistent on them being called Tom and Susan and all other options are rejected… Boyboy is going to be Woody if I get my way and I’m working on Pippi for the girl, but it isn’t going according to plan so far. xxx

    I would still be crying! These little fuzzers are just the cutest. I love all of these but that first one with the lean over hug of the bed is just the sweetest. {sigh}
    And…how did you ever get all of those kitties to pose so well together?
    big smiles…thanks for sharing!

    Your picture makes me wonder if I am a cat person or a dog person more lol. I will settle on both. An amazing set of pictures and memories to live by. It must have been hard watching some of them go…
