Back at the beginning of the year, Kat asked if I’d like to host a photo walk at Blogtacular…

Now I LOVE photo walks, but I wasn’t sure that people attending a conference about blogging, would sacrifice one of the other fabulous talks or workshops, to take photos with me around the streets of Mayfair…

Kat assured me that people would love it. So I said yes…

Fast forward a couple of weeks ago, when I scoped out the venue and possible routes for walking… that’s when I asked if a bunch of helium balloons could accompany us, to add a little colour and fun.

Again, I LOVE balloons as props… but I didn’t know if ‘bloggers with balloons’ would be embraced by everyone.

Thankfully it was. 30 ladies with cameras gathered & it was SUPER fun. Coloured balloons and creative people in the sunshine is pretty special!

Here’s just a little flavour of what happened…

Rather brilliantly, some of the ladies were up for having their portraits taken and it’s not easy standing there with 20+ cameras capturing you. High fives!

Our photo walk took us to the greenery of Berkeley Square – the streets, shops & doorways of Mayfair – the courtyard of the Royal Academy – the Burlington Arcade – and then playtime outside the windows of Cath Kidston.

Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the fun… You can check out the #blogtacularphotowalk hashtag for more photos & read some of the participants experiences here :

Kat was right (she quite often is!) it was the most fun, especially with the balloons, and definitely a feeling of confidence in numbers, I can’t have been the only one taking pictures that I would have been a little self conscious about if it had been just me on my own. Your pictures are gorgeous, they really capture the feeling we all had wandering around!

Gorgeous, Xanthe. And I’m not just saying that because the museum with the statue that all the bloggers are standing in front of is the building where I met my husband. 🙂
