50 PLACES – ALLIE PALLIE IN THE SNOW

50 PLACES – ALLIE PALLIE IN THE SNOW

Struggling to keep going with my 50 places project over the last year. I started the project when I was turning 45 back in 2019. The idea was that before I turned 50, I would visit or experience 50 different places… A city, a town, a place, a restaurant, a day trip or a park etc, it was about making time to experience 50 places before the big 50.

Last year was tricky. Barely left the house but I managed a few things… Like a couple of camping trips, and even visiting places in London and Cambridge. I might not be on track to complete the 50 before 50, but I’m going to try and keep going.

Lockdown 3.0 meant I didn’t leave the house for most of January, other than when it snowed. While we were walking in Alexandra Palace admiring how beautiful it was. I thought this could be one of my 50 places because we don’t often see it covered with snow. I have such fond memories of being here with the boys when they were younger. They absolutely loved sledging and would spend hours whizzing down the hill and running back up with such enthusiasm.

We had such a beautiful walk and I was loving watching everyone having such a great time. It was so joyful. Until I slipped in the snow and broke my wrist… which is a shame, because I really love the snow and I’d wished for it to come and bring us some joy.

Will have to wait till next year before I can venture in the snow again.

50 PLACES BEFORE 50

My long term project is “50 places before 50”.

Visiting 50 “places” before I turn 50… a city, a town, a restaurant, a country, hotel, a park, etc. Wherever or whatever – it’s about organising and/or making “50 experiences” happen regularly before I turn 50.
