I’ve been taking selfies ever since I got camera as a teenager… way before “selfies” were a thing.

Excuse the grain… Nothing added here – The grain was real from the low light after nap time – with my first digital camera… hardly any pixels, cost a small fortune – but finally I could take all the photos I desired, without having to develop hundreds of rolls of film. I never would have imagined at the time, we’d all have amazing cameras in our pockets now…

No filters available to hide sweat from the afternoon heat in Thailand. As we lay in our beautiful wooden house, listening to the chickens and the whirl of fan. Darkness to keep it cool and aid sleep… Opening and closing all the shutters was a daily ritual. Then to the beach to eat sand and wait for the sun to go down.

Oh how young we were. No clue what I was doing, muddling through each day, finding our way. Thank you for making me a mama. You were the sweetest baba and together we figured it out.

This bundle of cheeks turns 14 today. What the what??

The time has gone by in a flash, yet it feels like a life time since this photo was taken. Like I’m looking at someone else. I remember me and him – but I also don’t. It’s so weird.

The one thing I do know… is I’m still winging this parenthood thing. Happy Birthday amazing boy.

The only recent selfie shot of us I could find – Ironic it’s not in focus at all… considering the shot above – you would have thought 14 years on, I’d be slightly better at this! I know the camera is WAY better… Must change that and snap something decent this weekend.
