FIVE FACTS – CALIFORNIA DREAMING

Goodness!… I’ve just booked my ticket for LA to be part of this magic with these lovelies… so I’m making the days count.

Kim & I are heading to LA a little bit early and we’ll be hanging out one afternoon taking photos, making movies and probably eating, do you fancy joining us? We’re not sure what or when yet, so please head on over here and let us know if you’re interested.

On with my five facts… this week it’s about California.

1. Last year Shutter sisters camp was my first trip away on my own, probably ever (I can’t remember). Flying half way across the world was scary and exhilarating. I can’t wait to do it again.

2. The Cali light… yes, the light is really as dreamy, creamy, glowy golden as it looks in those West Coast photos.

3. I find there is something wonderful about foreign money… it’s almost like toy money. I always like to keep a note or some coins from every trip as a memento.

4. Birds on a wire, I don’t feel I’ve seen this in the UK (maybe I’ve just never come across them… I’ll probably start seeing them everywhere now) saw it a few times in California.

5. Travel is the best. Opens your eyes, feeds your soul etc. All those cliches are true.

    This may sound twee but I have never seen a homeless person with a trolley before,I saw one once asleep on a bench. You can tell I dont live in a city cant you.Thanks for your photos of California! If you want great light you should come to Austalia one day!

    lovely shots! I was in california in may and so loved the light, hard to get back to grey England. I would love to catch up in LA, am flying on the 19th and staying two nights (no idea where, have you booked an LA hotel yet?) to get over jet lag. Assume you are getting to palm springs on the shuttle bus??

    How funny to hear someone say American money is like toy money. That’s how I felt about the Canadian money when I lived there for a year & a half. It was before we went to colored money. I loved the $2 bill, and still try to get straps of 100 of them here every now and again just to freak people out. Most people forget that we have a $2 bill as well. I wish our $1 coins caught on here, but they never have.

    I will be playing along with you in this next round of Behind the Scenes. I’m a Kim Klassen fan, and a Beyonder. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better in our upcoming class. Enjoy your Cali trip! It’s fabulous there! Nothing but clear skies and sunshine… much like Arizona only a lot cooler AND it has the OCEAN!

    I love the way you captured the beautiful blue sky in your image of the birds on the line. I still have some German money in my keepsake drawer. It is sort of like play money.

    oh! that dude in your second photo is one of the things i love about california. the people there are SO interesting.

    and i agree, travel sure opened MY eyes and still feeds my soul.
