NOVEMBER – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

This month was a struggle… this isn’t quite what I wanted for The Sixty Second Photograph project. But off the back of creating daily films for all of November, this was all I had.

So this is Sunday morning… such familiar scenes… stuff I’ve captured over and over. But to mix it up, it’s in stop motion style and in black & white… just to give a different perspective.

I was tried and I needed to show up for this project and it’s good to have something.

As ever, please check out the other fabulous artists over at The Sixty Second Photograph.

OCTOBER – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

Another month, another film for the fabulous The Sixty Second Photograph project.

Yes, it’s another story of bike rides! A familiar theme of my films of this year long project, but cycling is a big part of life right now. It’s one of the few times I get to hang out with the boys, so these are the memories I want to remember.

I love this project to push me to create something precious just for me.

Do check out the other wonderful stories being told over at The Sixty Second Photograph.

SEPTEMBER – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

The latest installment from the collaboration The Sixty Second Photograph…

I love the theme of this film because riding my bike is my happy place… and taking these early evening journeys with Cosmo fills my heart.

This film tells the story of my joy.

As always all of The Sixty Second Photograph films are breathtaking. Do take a look!

AUGUST – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

Another film from the collaboration The Sixty Second Photograph…

It’s going to be hard moving on from summer time films… All the films, from all the artists from the past few months, have made my heart sing. Do take a look!

My film is from my favourite evening this summer. So spontaneous and such delight.

The boys had been unsuccessful at crabbing earlier in the day, so after a delicious dinner on the dock…. they ran off to get the nets from the car… they were determined to catch something. We stayed till dark, I was full of smiles watching their joy & excitement for this simple activity.

I will remember this evening forever.

JULY – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

with one comment

This film is gift to me.

The deadline for the July film for The Sixty Second Photograph changed by a few days, so it meant I could shoot this film, instead of the one I’d started to edit together. This is way more special to me. This is our last night in the house we’d called home for two years. The house I so didn’t want to leave. The house I’d kinda imagined we stay in for years to come.

So this film is my farewell. Gifted with glorious weather. Gifted with these memories of us just hanging out, making food and enjoying this space one last time.

Very grateful for this project.

All the films made as part of The Sixty Second Photograph are so full of summer flavours… do take some time to enjoy them all.

JUNE – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

The end of June sneaked up really quickly… I didn’t get round to shooting something specific for The Sixty Second Photograph, so I revisited a film I’d made earlier in the month and lengthened it.

Making it a real celebration of the only time it’s felt like summer, so far this year.

If you’d like to feel the real essence of summertime, check out the gorgeous films from the rest of the collective here. They’re so beautiful… full of sunshine & glistening sparkles.

The film is shot on Canon EOS 5D3.

MAY – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

with one comment

The collaboration The Sixty Second Photograph is dear to my heart. It’s a commitment to make a film each month alongside some really lovely & talented artists.

It should be fairly easy for me, as I’m making films all the time, but actually it’s been tricky to separate what I want to make as part of this project from the other creative projects and films I’m working on. I’ve been over thinking it… and trying to do something different each month. It’s not possible every time and I’ve got to be ok with that.

So this month is using footage collected throughout May… snippets from my Week In The Life and from a monthly Time Capsule film I’m creating. The theme is the light and that hopefully threads it together and it reminds me that looking for the light always makes me smile…

Do take time to check out the other films in this collective… it’s bubbling with inspiration.

The film is shot on Canon EOS 5D3.

APRIL – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

without comments

The Sixty Second Photograph is a monthly collaboration of beautiful stories by such talented artists. We’re telling stories of our lives through movement… playing and experimenting along the way.

This month came round so quickly. I wanted to carry on exploring the idea of a moving portrait… like last month. So I kept the film really simple. I’ve used The Photo Booth idea in other films of mine, but not for a while and as there is so much change in the boys lately… it’s good to revisit concepts that bring out a certain feeling. And it’s good to get everyone in front of the camera!

This film makes me smile for so many reasons, but mostly I’m grateful for this project to push me to create something I might not have got round to making.

Head over HERE and spend a while getting inspired by the wonderful films on offer this month.

MARCH – THE SIXTY SECOND PHOTOGRAPH

with 2 comments

The monthly collaboration The Sixty Second Photograph is so wonderful to be a part of…. beautiful stories by such talented artists. Everyone pushing themselves to try something new to them, each discovering different ways to see and capture the movement in front of them.

This film idea has been in my head for over a year, but I’ve not found the situation to bring it to life. It’s different to what I normally shoot, but that’s the point of The Sixty Second Photograph – trying things out of your comfort zone and experimenting, so it’s the perfect playground to try something like this out.

Experimenting is what this film is about. Playing with light… playing with double exposures… playing with a story that’s about the boys growing up and trying to reach out and hold onto this moment.

I hope you enjoy it.

Please do spend some time over HERE and see the wonderful films on offer this month. I’m so inspired!
