WALTHAMSTOW TO BRIXTON

with 2 comments

Recently I tagged along with Leonie, on her brilliant, (wish I’d thought of it) project, to travel to the ends of all the tube lines. (I’m a rubbish Londoner, having lived here a most of my life, there are many parts I’ve never seen)

Throughout this year Leonie plans to visit the stations at the end of each tube line, un-reasearched, leaving discoveries to unfold through her lens once she arrives.

I love this.

We explored the Victoria line, running north to south for about 35 mins.

North was first – Walthamstow. We let the signs lead us to the William Morris gallery, who knew?

We mooch, drink tea and play under the only bit of blue sky we see all day.

A yellow wall calls me from across the road, we play some more.

Hop back on the tube to the other end of the line, it’s lunchtime and we’re hungry.

Disappointment that our planned destination is closed is quickly dispersed, with mason jars of drinks and the most delicious lunch at honest burgers. So glad there’s one in Soho!

Stuffed with yumminess, we mooch a little around Brixton indoor market… pretty tables ready to serve food, and pops of colour everywhere…

A joyful day of shooting with no mission other than to let the day unfold & capture it. Thanks Leonie…

STREET LIFE

without comments

During Art & the Heart we were asked to go out for one hour and shoot our own project… there were a few other guidelines to the project that added a “scary” element, but I don’t want to spoil it incase you ever happen take the workshop. Anyway, here is a selection of some the photos I took… these were the test shots taken on my iphone, aiming to fill the frame with contrasting colours and textures. It gives a real snapshot of this corner of London.

Creating photo slideshows and GIF animations is one of the projects I share in Creating Time Capsules… which opens for registration tomorrow! All the details are here.

DAY OUT

with one comment

A couple weeks ago I met up with the lovely Pen for a mooch around Central London and a catch up on all our news. It’s so great to get out and meet fellow creatives and get inspired by the simple things around you.

Stopping for a spot of lunch…

Then a walk inside the fabulous Liberty London. Plenty to feast your eyes on… Plenty of colour to soak up.

An abundance of bunting in Liberty… they know how to make it classy.

And finally a stroll along Oxford St while Pen plays with Diana. Thanks for a lovely day!

BIG NEWS

Exciting day today!

First, the new e-course I mentioned earlier this week is open for registration TODAY…

Behind the Scenes is a creative guide to blogging your passion with myself & the wonderful Kim, all the details can be found here. The course is going to take place in a new space called Reflection Of You, which we’re planning to build into a space full of creativity and connection… truly wonderful.

Please pop on over and take a look, we’re super excited.

Secondly, I’m over at Shutter sisters today launching our month of colour… I do hope you’ll join in? A month of searching for colour… YES PLEASE!

I’m in… what about you?

{photos from my colourful day in San Francisco with Leslie)

And then of course this weekend is full of celebrations of the Jubliee kind… we’re escaping all the pomp and ceremony to sit in a field in this beauty and hang out with friends, old & new. I’m sure there will be bunting, ’cause bunting always makes things happy.

Happy weekend to you all x.

LISE & PATRICK

with 3 comments

So the lovely Lise and Patrick fell in love with the pre-wedding session I did with Leon & Vanessa, so much so, they wanted to do pretty much the same thing… they loved the balloons, the location (especially the escalator) and even the badges. “That’s cool” I said, as I knew we could add our own spin on it…

They came with balloons, even one who walks around with you. They brought so much energy & fun to the shoot… and of course bundles of love, they clearly adore each other very very much.

We started at St Pancras Station and then hopped in a taxi to Camden for a different flavour…

BIRTHDAY SISTER

without comments

So my sister, the fabulous Miss bake-a-boo had a special birthday this week. We took some time out and spent a day mooching around. First stopping for lunch at Poppies…

For fish ‘n’ chips and homemade tartar sauce (although not as good as we make at home).

Boo found some inspirational books and we poured over them them, making plans for the future.

Then to get out the rain we sheltered inside The Vintage Emporium for tea and coziness. And marvelled at the dog sleeping in the tea room, and Boo wished that she was allowed to have her cat snuggled up at bake-a-boo.

Then a spot of shopping around all the funky shops in Spitalfields market… and the bus home. A wonderful day, love you boo xx
