I love this couples’ tradition of taking family photos around the first birthday of each daughter… they love the story it has become and how it shines the light on this moment in their lives. Travelling and living all over the globe, these girls have some wonderful experiences to share, and my Sunday morning in their current home in London was the best fun… they performed, they played, they twirled and they filled me up with a whole lot of girly-ness.

Thank you for letting me be part of your tradition and tell the story of your wonderful girls.

During a newborn session it’s often the details and the in-between moments I love… and sometimes a story is best told in black & white.

Oh my gosh… I got to hang out with these lovelies yesterday… amongst the tiredness that a new baby brings, there was so much love and wonderment in this new family. Love these guys, (they were my first ever wedding!) I’m totally honoured to tell the stories of their lives.

Carly and Ben are totally in love with their new son Acer, and I spent a lovely morning hanging out with them and capturing this special time. I remember those days just like it was yesterday…

And then because I love to tell a story…

A new mama and her baba… there is nothing more beautiful.

Carly & Ben are waiting for their first baby to join them and their 3 chickens. There was much excitement and anticipation… I look forward to meeting the baba soon and I wish them all the best for their journey into parenthood.

I love photographing mamas-to-be…. capturing the beautiful form of the body and hearing all about the excitement as they wait for their new arrival. We talk birth and life with a new born…. It’s the start of an amazing journey and I adore being part of it.

This serene mama was carrying her second baby and we spent a lovely morning, hanging out in her gorgeous house just before Christmas. I visited again last week to meet her new baby girl, who was so tiny and absolutely perfect, and looked totally divine bundled up in her swaddle…. and the best part, I always get a cuddle before I go….

This is the post I never finished before leaving for New York. This was meant to be a slide show of my favourite photos I’ve taken this year, but you know what, I made the slide show and I actually prefer the images to stand alone. I know I will be concentrating on moving images and putting photos together to tell a story more and more in this coming year, but 2011 was mostly about photos by themselves, so that’s what I will share here and I’ve updated my welcome video instead.

It’s been hard to select just a few from 2011… these photos mean so much to me as they tell the story I see and then like to tell…. the details, the memories, the connections, all with the colours and light that make me gasp as I press the shutter. Capturing these moments has be wonderful, thank you to all those that let me do what I love, I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings…
